For incoming freshman who will be a full-time student, majoring in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education; maintain 3.0 GPA

For undergraduate, full-time student in teacher education; 3.0 minimum GPA; demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

For undergraduate student in teacher preparation program, with demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

For a full-time undergraduate or graduate student preparing to become a teacher or school administrator; 3.0 GPA in college courses or in high school if an incoming freshman

For a non-traditional student (age 23 or older) for his/her junior year. Major: elementary education. Requires GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated financial need (FAFSA), along with statement of financial need or special circumstances. One letter of recommendation is required with the application. The recipient should be a student who has been successful in overcoming multiple barriers, such as family status, employment, dependent responsibilities, financial independence from parents or family, or other circumstances which make it difficult for the student to pursue a teaching degree (as outlined in their statement of financial need).

For a Junior or Senior majoring in Elementary Education

May be renewed at the discretion of the department chair, upon re-application and continued meeting of the criteria

Two scholarships - One for a senior majoring in elementary education and one for any undergraduate majoring in elementary education who has been admitted to the teacher education program. Criteria: 1) a professional focus in elementary ed. (K-6); 2) intent to teach at an elementary level (K-6); 3) demonstration of financial need (FAFSA); 4) strong academic record & high academic ability; 5) show promise of future leadership within elementary ed.; 6) 2 strong letters of recommendation from faculty at ISU; 7) 1 strong letter of recommendation from an individual involved in elementary ed. in K-12 schools.

For a Junior or Senior in Curriculum & Instruction, with demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

May be renewed upon re-application and continued meeting of the criteria

This scholarship is administered by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction for students participating in a student teaching experience abroad at the elementary school level in a foreign language or who are participating in a foreign language study abroad experience. Preference given to those with demonstrated financial need (FAFSA).

A foreign language study abroad award is renewable for an award for student teaching abroad in the language.

For students majoring in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education in the College of Education; enrolled in or completed 1 course in reading; members of Alpha Upsilon Alpha; recipients agree to participate in a reading-related service

This award is not renewable.

For students majoring in teacher education in Curriculum & Instruction who will be a Jr. or Sr. in the next academic year; open to US citizens or non-citizens in good academic standing
