Scholarships for Graduate Students

button Richard & Shirley Warren Graduate Fund

  • Criteria: C&I Graduate student in good academic standing
  • Award: $500

button Margaret & Barton Morgan Scholarship

  • Criteria:
    • Full-time C&I graduate student
    • preparing to become a teacher or school administrator in a pre-K-12 school system
    • 3.0 GPA
  • Award: $1200

 

button Edgar A. & Evelyn Benzler Tanruther Scholarship

  • Criteria:
    • Graduate student with a professional focus in elementary education
    • intent to teach at K-6 level
    • financial need
    • strong academic record
    • high academic ability
    • show promise of leadership within elementary education.

      Preference given to those who demonstrate: evidence of positive experiences and interactions with children at the elementary level; contributions to society; and successful elementary level teaching experience.

  • Award: $1200

button Preparing Future Faculty Fellowship (PFFF)

  • Criteria:
    • C&I Graduate student (Ph.D. only) interested in a faculty career in a college or university setting
    • strong interest and intent to teach and conduct research at the college or university level
    • letter of reference/nomination must come from a C&I faculty member who will serve as the faculty mentor if the fellowship is awarded
    • strong academic record; preference given to incoming graduate students but all applicants must be formally admitted and in good standing at the time of the application deadline and the subsequent review.
  • Award: Half-time assistantship and full tuition scholarship

 

Instructions for Graduate Scholarships application:

  • The application deadline for all graduate scholarships is February 15, 2009.
  • An applicant should submit a letter of application describing his/her career goals and plans and how she/he meets the scholarship criteria and preferred qualifications.
  • An applicant should also submit a recent transcript and a current vita. Graduate students should submit one letter of reference preferably from the major professor, except when the criteria indicate otherwise.
