Historical,
Philosophical, and Comparative Studies in Education / Faculty
The HPC studies emphasis is designed for classroom teachers, educational theorists,
administrators, university personnel, youth workers, religious educators, and
others who want to better understand the bases of contemporary educational systems.
Students analyze educational programs and issues in a broad social, philosophical,
and international context. They explore the institution of schooling by examining
different historical eras, national and world systems, and modes of thinking
about education.
