Dear Prospective Student,

 

Iowa State is emphasizing the personal and intellectual adventure of the college experience. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, with major responsibility for preparing teachers, offers you two Adventures in Teaching to enjoy:

• We offer exciting and demanding teacher preparation programs through our own majors and in cooperation with other departments on campus.
• We believe that people can learn to approach life with a sense of adventure; we seek to help prepare teachers who will both appreciate the adventure of helping children and adolescents develop to their full and best potential and who will be adventuresome in their teaching.

We want the teachers we prepare to help their future students be adventurers in their own approach to life and to be people:

• who love learning;
• who enjoy personal challenge; and
• and who seek to make the world better for others.
